Canada byDesign: Building a knowledge nation using new media and policy was a Visionary Speaker series in 1997-8, produced by Dr Liss Jeffrey for the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto. Supported by KMDI and many others, the lecture series formed part of the New media and policy graduate seminar at the McLuhan Program taught by Dr Liss Jeffrey ( and that year only co-taught by Professor Andrew Clement from FIS), generated the original Electronic Commons web space.

First ever Citizen's Agora for the European Parliament -- lively scrappy debate on peoples' power and how to make participatory democracy happen. So far mainly presentations, but it's a great start. Important, lots of talk talk talk, but not censored talk. Live streaming available right now online http://www.europarl.europa.eu/wps-europarl-internet/faces/live/live-video.jsp -- European central time - Thursday and Friday. Tune in. Recommended.
